Oceanview Stud also runs a small herd of Black belted Galloway.
  We find these animals are as hardy and quite as our
lovely solid galloways.

The belties have also orginated from Scotland and have a double coat
the same as the solids. They are reknown for not being selective feeders,
being happy to eat almost anything in the paddock, which
is excellent when cleaning up paddocks for weeds. 

They are a beautiful site to see,  scattered across our paddocks
with their curious white bands wrapped all the way around
their middle,  which provides us with such pleasure to watch them
as we enjoy breakfast each morning.

Our belties have shown that they not only can maintain
condition but can continue to be productive year in year out, even
in our poorest years and on our poorest paddocks.
